The first attempt at a bit of serious work, winds up with father admitted to hospital.

Well, we're a man down already. Not a great start. Becca and I were awoken at 4am by father complaining of pins and needles in his arm. He had a heart attack back in May, which means you've got to take extra note of even modest symptoms like these. Anyway, we'd be using a heavy duty power drill the day before and we all agreed it might just be the after effects of all that vibrating (my hands were a bit tingly too). Back to bed then.
Come 7:30 his symptoms had worsened, so we decided a check-up at the local hospital - which I had no idea was so close was in order. Well when we got there, panic ensued and father ended up in the Resuscitation Room awaiting a massive heart attack - and I got ushered off into the Relatives Room to wait for someone to come and tell me that 'they did all they could...'. Scary stuff.
Anyhow, the doctors relaxed a bit after a couple of hours, but still admitted him to the cardiac ward for more tests. It looks like he is going to be in for a week So, it wasn't the drill after all, which (by the way) I would seriously recommend any serious DIYer consider buying. It saves more time than any other tool I've got. Goes through walls, concrete lintels, paving, anything, like a knife through butter. Screwfix are selling the one I have for £289 - definitely worth the money.
