Decided not to call Building Control, but to write to the Building Control Manager explaining the situation instead. Have sent drawings explaining the scheme that the original officer proposed and I agree with, but that the officer responsible for our area disregarded. Plus a drawing showing of the excessive use of steels as proposed by the latter. I have asked for clarification as to why these two officers cannot agree on the role of the chimneys either are they structural or not? Your answers in by email please! Plus requested some form of adjudication as to which scheme is OK, or indeed if both are, words to that affect. I'll keep you posted on the outcome...
The rest of the day was spent clearing out the garage, which involved 5 trips to the dump. Not the most glamorous job, but a necessity; it will give me space to work on the downstairs cloakroom while other matters await resolution!
