I am so ill |
|
| Work grinds to a halt as we are both struck down by fearsome colds, but we did manage to fit the skirting. |
OK, so men are renowned for being bad patients and whingers when they are ill, but this is serious - I'm dying! Can't see anything getting done 'til the end of the week. Struggled on over the weekend, fitting the architrave and skirting, sorting out a door - stolen from the larder - and ordering the kitchen. I cheated on the skirting. Cutting a mitre rather than a scroll, because I knew I could fill up the gaps with decorator's filler before painting. Basically, a mitre is OK if you intend to paint. When you screw mitred skirting to the wall, you'll find gaps open up at the corners. This is because every piece is pulled back away from its neighbours. Scrolling avoids this because one piece slides along the other. See my guide to scrolling skirting in the side bar. Right, so I don't feel up to any physical endeavour, but I'm just in the mood to talk to Building Control to find out why my letter disputing their demands for supporting the chimneystacks has gone unanswered! Later...cough...cough... |
