Were's my kitchen gone?

We've been avoiding it but, finally, things are going to get a tad inconvenient as we devastate the kitchen
OK, where are we. Well the sealed units are still ongoing. There are nine window panes in total and I am trying to get them out, the units fitted and back in the same day. It saves so much time on boarding up holes! Unfortunately, the drying times on the timber preservative and primer undercoat mean I can only do two units a day. So, with the frames drying I thought I might as well trash the kitchen.

Out came the cupboards, which I reassembled in the lounge - our new temporary kitchen (This is supposed to be a luxury house and it's turning into a bed-sit). Only the sink and cooker remain.

Removing the cupboards revealed some very dodgy wiring behind them, which had been extended using open terminal blocks when the cupboards were fitted. So that was traced back and disconnected.

Where the cupboards stood you can see the original tiles, which seem to be well laid and in good condition. It's just a shame that the walls of the larder, which are going to be removed, cut a swathe straight through them. It probably means they'll have to be tiled over.

Yesterday the boiler man came. The neighbours recommended him and that gives some peace-of-mind, as they are so cautious about everything. He says no to a combi - lack of water pressure to run a decent shower - yes to a condensing system boiler. That means the hot water cylinder has to be relocated from the bathroom to an unused alcove in the third bedroom. Anyway, he was really thorough. Spent a good hour and a half looking everywhere and going through all our requirements. I'm just slightly apprehensive size of his quote!
